I was pissed that I had to leave. But the last thing I wanted to deal with was Ortiz.

I saw Nina look at me with a troubled expression, and I smiled.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be back. The back door’s still open, right?”

“Yeah, but what if he catches you?”

That’s what I didn’t want to worry about.

“I’ll deal with that when I get there,” I told her.

I quickly left, narrowly missing Captain Ortiz. When I saw the door open, I started my bike, leaving immediately to go back to the clubhouse.

God, I didn’t get why her dad was so overbearing.

When I got there, I immediately saw Hunter look at me.

“Where were you? Bishop is calling Church. Apparently, he’s still mad about Ortiz,” he said.

“You and me both,” I muttered.

I followed them inside and over to the main room, where Bishop was.

I nodded when I saw him, and he nodded back.

“Glad you could join us, Smoke,” he said sardonically.

“Hey, I had something big and worrisome to deal with. Get off my back.”

“Anyways, let’s get this started.

He banged the gavel, and the room went silent as he spoke.

“We have to deal with the first order of business. The Cubans. They’re still a huge problem, and they’re definitely still going to be a problem if we don’t do something.”

“I think we should send them a message telling them not to fuck with us! I’m still not happy about what they did to Ivy,” he said.

“I know, Hunter. I’m not either,” Bishop said.

“We could get Captain Ortiz to take care of them. He even got the agreement to do that. He’s got a list of charges on those bastards and will be raiding them over the next couple of days. We could definitely use that,” I told him.

Bishop’s face fell. Something told me he didn’t want to.

“At what cost, though? Ortiz was already going to take seventy-five percent of our business. There’s no way we could afford him taking out the Cubans and such,” Bishop said.

I thought about it, and I smiled. It was something I talked to Nina about before leaving.

“Well, he’s agreed to taking ten percent off the top and making Wicked Kings his priority crew. I’m having that being handled as we speak,” I told them.

Bishop’s face was shocked, and Steel looked at me like I was crazy.

“How the fuck did you swing that?”

I smiled, grabbing my phone.

“Nina just texted me. She did it. She’s the reason why I was able even to get half the deal that I wanted out of him,” I told them.

“How, though?’ Steel said with surprise.

“Dude, I’m still surprised you’re seeing her after finding out that she’s Ortiz’s daughter,” Bishop added.

“Well, it’s because we’re using the baby as leverage. If he wants to be in the picture, he needs to listen to our demands. We can use this to make sure that Ortiz protects us from the Cubans without taking advantage of us. If he steps out of line or does anything shitty, we’ll cut him right the fuck off,” I told him.
